Percale cotton’s history began in the 17th and 18th century and was very popular with the upper classes in France and Europe as a superior, fine quality cotton. Thought to have originated in Persia . Also known as Moris or Mauris it was used as bed sheets and for fine clothing by the rich and famous due to the closeness of the weave.
This cotton is deep dyed in a beautiful range of colours and manufactured using the traditional Percale method. It is quilting grade cotton it is ideal for quilting, dressmaking and all craft projects.
